Airworx LLC
Disassembled engine completely and performed a visual inspection of parts as removed, performed a hidden damage inspection and conformity inspection. All parts were cleaned in a spray wash hot tanks, solvent tanks, and vapor de greasers. Ferrous and non-ferrous parts were blasted using 10X engineered media, aluminum shot, zinc shot or walnut shells. All ferrous and non-ferrous were NDT inspected using wet method MPI and FPI inspections per the Franklin overhaul manual. Crankshaft was ground to M.020 on rod and main journals, plasma ION nitride, and flange plated per Airworx repair specification 22-0518AWX-FR. A new transfer collar was installed per Airworx repair specification 22-0528AWX-FR. Camshaft was inspected and ground per Airworx repair specification 22-0519AWX-FR. Crankcase was inspected, lapped and lined bored and as per Airworx repair specification 22-0521-AWX-FR. Connecting rods were repaired with new upper bushings as per Airworx repair specification 22-0525AWX-FR. Cylinders were overhauled as per the Franklin overhaul manual. Installed new guides, new(NOS) liners, liner lock pins. new intake valves, new exhaust valves, serviceable springs and dampners, new exhaust studs, new intake valve keepers, new exhaust valve keepers, new piston rings. Serviceable pistons that were cleaned dimension checked, FPI inspected and wrist pins that were inspected and dimension checked. Hydraulic lifter bodies were repaired per Airworx specification 22-05224AWX-FR.
Hydraulic units were disassembled, cleaned, re-assembled and tested for proper operation. Rocker arms were cleaned, inspected visually, dimensionally and NDT performed. Rocker arm bushings were replaced with new bushing and machined per the Franklin 6A-350 series overhaul manual. All parts final cleaned and painted using Franklin Gray alkyd enamel paint. Engine was assembled with new main, rod and camshaft bearings, new gasket kit and parts above that that were inspected, repaired and overhauled. Installed overhauled magnetos, overhauled prop governor, overhauled starter, new ignition harness and spark plugs. Engine was tested on a engine calibrated engine dyno and found to operate per requirements set forth in the Franklin 6A-350 series overhaul manual. All work was accomplished as per the 6A-350 series overhaul manual and FAA approved repair specification data proprietary to Airworx LLC.
